Gems & Soil
Gems and Soil. Just a thought I had.
Humans are made out of Soil, but also Gems.
My first thought was soil and gold, but it doesn't really matter really XD
The soil would symbolise everything average, boring and imperfect about a person and the gems would of course then be all the good.
Everything that makes us special. Like little precious glimmering jewels.
Not one person has only one of the two components. Everyone have both soil and gems.
However, they might be placed in different spots and maybe they have different colors and shine. But the overall value is the same.
As an imperfect human it is easy to look at other people and only see one or the other. Some people might at first glance seem almost perfect, full of gems. While someone else might seem to be nothing but soil.
And the same goes for our self-image as well. If we have trouble loving ourselves, we might see nothing but dirt when looking ourselves in the mirror.
On the contrary, some a little bit too proud might get blinded from all the gold they seem to see in themselves.
What if some people just have their gems on their surface? Glimmering away for everyone around to see.
It might take an extra effort to find gems in some we don't naturally get along well with, but it's still there, maybe just hidden from our eyes?
And maybe we'll have to dig deep through that soil to find them. We need to get our hands dirty.
Also sometimes what seemed to be nothing special can turn out to be precious - like a geode.
But to be able to see its inner beauty we need to crack that stone open first, which also takes patience.
Just don't forget to find and bring out your own gems. Let everyone see them.
