혼저옵서예~ 'Welcome'!
Hello there! I am Linda and this is my very first blog post. EVER! I feel a bit nervous for some reason and also excited! I also feel undecided. Should I write in English or Swedish? Or both? XD Maybe later on when my Korean gets less broken and more fluent I could also do that? X)
What do you suggest?
Leave me a comment below so I will know. For the time being I will just write in English ><
I didn't really decide yet what will come up here on this blog but that's also exciting! Only my own imagination and the sky will be my limits ^^
So why did I decide to make this page then?
Well since I couldn't find any blogs about Jeju online I thought "Hey, why don't I make my own then? XD".
Anyhow, why don't I introduce myself a bit?
My name is Linda and I'm 26 years old (or 27 if you count by korean age system) and less than 8 months ago I got married to the best man in the whole world (well to me he is anyway x) ) and I packed my bags full and left to stay in his hometown, Jeju city in South Korea.
I was here 3 months last summer/autumn which gave me a chance to adapt to the change a bit and get to learn a bit what life here is like.
I think that preparation made this whole change of life much easier for me... *pheew*
So Jeju Island is kind of my new home.
Hey have you ever heard about this island before?
If you did - please write me a comment!
If not, I could tell you a bit. ;)
Jejudo or Jeju Island (제주도) is the biggest island in South Korea and is located southeast of the mainland. It's also the biggest tourist attraction in S. Korea and is full of beautiful sceneries of natural wonders! The climate is a bit different from the rest of Korea with mild winters (they seldom get minus degrees (Celsius) here compared to Seoul where the winters can be F-F-F-FREEZING! (at least that's what I heard - I haven't been to mainland during winter. Yet.)
The summers here are humid and hot with "tropical nights" that are too hot for sleep to tuck you in all comfy. XO If you live and work here - you'll need aircons and fans. Constantly.
Even though Jeju is a quite big island there are only about 600,000 people living here.
A large amount of the islands area consists of a big shield volcano called Hallasan (한라산) and there a lot of tiny mountains called Oreum (오름) around the big mountain.
Sometimes I imagine that Hallasan is the mother and all her tiny babies lies there surrounding her... XD
Anyway.. I'm gonna stop writing now. Hej hej!
