Snowed Under
OK, not technically snowed under but hey, at least the car got stuck in the snow.. ❄🚗
Jeju hasn't been it's own self this past week.
It was snowing for days and the degrees crawled down to beneath 0 and all that caused some.. chaos. ^^
Because the winters in Jeju are so mild and the temperature very rarely goes below freezing point most cars here don't change tires for winter.
So whenever snow happens - chaos happens. Or rather, not much happens.
The cars become almost useless. Without chains or snow tyres they eventually get stuck in the snow somewhere.
Shops close, people stay home from work and staying in all day and the city seems like a ghost town.
The airport was also in chaos for several days and full of deserted travelers who couldn't get anywhere due to an ice covered runway.
But in all that mess the two of us stayed happy enjoying the snow. When the snow covered the ground we couldn't go anywhere far so we mostly spent time with the family, playing in the snow (I made a snow duck 🦆 - snowmen are too mainstream) or at home, looking at the snow falling silently outside and baking buns! Yum! 😍
Vanilla bun rolls... mm..
I also made fridge magnets from leftover cookies I made for our anniversary 😂. Cute, aren't they?
Here is also a few pictures from the days before our car got stuck in the snow - when the wind was blowing hard and we went for a drive to see the wonders of weather. 😆
A little piggy friend we made in a traditional village
We also saw 'The greatest showman' on the theatre and we both loved it. The soundtrack has been playing here everyday since! 😄
Now the snow is gone again and the warmth came back with a scent of spring and I'm happy that I finally got to do a Korean skill test - TOPIK I - just yesterday!
What's your favourite thing to do when the "big-white-bear-winter" comes? 🙂
