precious little lights
This week was the anniversary for when we first met and when we got engaged. It's already 6 and 5 years ago since those days. 😮 Time flies and I have no clue as usual.
Fall is my absolute favorite season here on Jeju. Everything just feels more calm and fresh and finally we can stop sweating a little bit after August trying the capacity of our glands. 😂 Anyway let's stop talking about sweat haha.
It's nice to have a day to reminisce memories dear to us while making new ones. So we had a little outing. A little date.
At lunch we picked up the best kimbap (다가미 if your curious ^^) and just drove off and ended up on a little hill with a nice view of the mountains in one direction and the city and sea in the other.
There simply just having a in-car-picnic we munched on our kimbaps and slurping our cup noodles - we're simple people 😂 I don't need anything fancy to enjoy my lunch.
Two dogs approached us and kept us company and they were very interested in the delicious scent that was spreading through the open car windows.
We said bye-bye to the doggies and drove east and ended up at Saebyul-oreum (새별오름) where we stopped at a cafe called Saebil. They had lots of sweet bread, cakes and cookies to choose from and we had some Danish pastry and a small apple mousse cake that was too cute to resist. ><
It was very airy with a high ceiling and such a nice view of the hill just outside. I'm sure we'll go there again! Taeyang doesn't usually like going to cafés that much because he gets bored quickly or something so when even he likes it I'm happy too. In fact he was the one suggesting going there! 😄
(The cafe had this kind of industrial vibe with raw concrete walls and so when we took this photo it looked more like a shot from inside a prison. Especially with the blue shirts in same colour and TYs somewhat sad and indifferent expression 😂 hahaha)
With our bellies full of pastry and cake and hot chocolate *oufh!* we were kind of sleepy and decided to go to good ol' Nokkome oreum to have a cozy back - of-the-car-picnic and watch a movie.
And then! While the dark was falling wild rabbits came out to say hello 🤭 but the highlight of the night was certainly when a lot of fireflies started flying around illuminating the twilit hills.
I had only seen one firefly in my life before this day so I was thrilled to see so many in one spot!
Taeyang even caught a few and put them carefully in a bottle for a little while before release so we could have a closer look at them and their pulsing lights.
That was all I had to say about our happy, treasure-like day together. I wish I could've gotten some better pics though - especially of the fireflies. 🔥 next time!
