(R)oh deer! 🦌
A while back we went to check out the roe deer observation center here in Jeju. I've seen signs while passing by around there before so I got a bit curious! 😄 I've only seen a roe deer here in Jeju once - when we climbed Mt Halla - since they are quite shy and skittish.
The center have about 200 roe deer and when we entered through a gate there was a big area where they had a big pasture and one could feed the animals over the fence. The food - a branch of the deer's supposedly favorite bush - cost 1000 won and was bought right after entering the gate.
I think buying some food was a good idea because they were a bit difficult to charm even with food in hand. ^^ But so adorable! 😄
After feeding we took a long walk around the park's oreum where one can spot even more roe deer and just enjoy the surroundings and view.
The first little creature we met was a whiny cat that TY had a little conversation with.
And then we also met a deer on the path and tried to give him some food but he was a bit jumpy so we moved on. We saw two more roe deer in the forest after that as well.
I also spotted this slightly creepy plant that to me seemed a bit out of place. It felt like something from a different time or planet ^^ It was all brown and hairy and resembled rope..?
The air that day was actually not the best so maybe it wasn't the best activity to do, but the air was probably slightly better in the forest anyway. 👍

All in all, it was a nice place where one can take relaxing (and quite long) walk and observe roe deer and entrance cost was fairly low and the roe deer had a lot space to run freely and seemed to be well taken care of so... I liked it 👍.
The observation center is located in an area called Bonggae and it takes about 20 min by car from Jeju city Hall or about the double by bus to get there
It's open every day from 9 am to 6 pm.
Entrance fee: 1000 won/adult, 600 won/student
