Flooded

Waterfall purple hue

let the raging masses go

tear that old dam down

flood everything below

observe the destruction around

what seems to be a disaster

are waves of equation

dressing wounds with plaster

fighting back that past invasion

for the longest time I held on

my once spruced meadows

which housed the whitest swan

now all muddled in shadows

my calamity was out of sight

for those dwelling downstreams

the hurling winds of my plight

caught their kites and merry dreams

they asked me to hold on forever

but now time has come

for this one last endeavour

hear the beating of my drum

and then came the calm

that serene purling song

cast reflections in my palm

here at last, I belong
