Snow Seekers
It's already February and we still didn't get any real snow down here and there is not much left of winter before spring wakes up.
The only place around here where one can be sure to find that real-winter-feeling is in the mountain area. The two of us went there before the holidays (lunar new year) to get some of that real winter.
There was only snow on the northern side of Hallasan.
The side towards Seogwipo was basically all bare.
We stopped for a bit at 1100 highland (1100고지). So many other people thought the same thing. It can be a real challenge to find somewhere to be all alone over here >< I actually made a list of more peaceful places here but I will share that another time ^^
Sometimes when we are out like this I ask TY what kind of animals that roams the forest and I've asked if there by any chance is any wild boars here in Jeju. He didn't know for sure at that time.
I guess we got our answer now. 😂
I should be honest and say that it actually scared me a bit knowing that there was a risk that we could meet a boar here. There are most often warning signs for vipers around oreums and such places but this was a first to see. TY also made it a game to scare me "oh! There's a wild boar behind you now!" which made me quickly run out again and take a safer path XD
We were a bit late. The snow was already melting away and there was not much left on the trees. I hope there will be some more snow before spring so we might have a chance to ride a.. sleigh? 썰매? pulka? XD But it's always nice to get some fresh forest air!
