What a day!
Hello there!
This week was Chuseok (thanksgiving) in Korea and so we had some extra free time.
Wednesday this week was a happy day.
We were out all day with friends on adventures; driving, climbing, eating, walking, viewing, climbing some more, sweating in sun by the seaside and freezing in fog and wind in the mountains. 😫
I put together a little clip..
First of all we went to Gunsan with its open view of Hallasan and the southern seaside of Jeju.
It hit me that Gunsan - seen from afar - is a very cute hill. Doesn't it look like it has cat ears? Or moomin ears? 🙄
There were quite many bees there so I ran around screaming like a pig 🐽. Embarassing...
I didn't get to eat much of a breakfast (because I had a bad eyeliner day - it took me like 20 minutes to get it right 😂) so at this time I was staaaarving!
Because of Chuseok though, almost no restaurants were open but we managed to find a very nice Chinese restaurant in Jungmun! 😁
Their noodles are handmade! Yumyum! 😄
Then I got to see the basaltic cliffs of Jusangjeolli! 😍 A-mazing!!
It was my first time going there - there is an entrance fee (2000 won for adults) but I got in for free since I'm a Jeju resident with an ID. Yaay! 😄 Some of us had forgotten to bring an ID so they had to pay though...
Like we hadn't enough of fun already we headed for the dark clouds around Hallasan and climbed up Nokkome oreum.
It was actually a kind of hot day - we were constantly thirsty and sweating in the sun at jusangjeolli but when we came to Nokkome I got good use of that extra sweater I brought just in case. It was windy and cloudy and very chilly!
But I really love Nokkome.
Since it's located high up at 800+ m the air is so fresh and crisp! Something about the view reminds me of Sweden. Towards Hallasan there is nothing but forest. 😍
Even with that sweater it got too cold quite quickly. The wind got stronger and clouds wrapped around the oreum - almost exactly like that day at baekyaki oreum! 😮
We headed down quickly - my legs were shaking for a long time after 😂 and headed to the sleepy city to find an open restaurant.
That was difficult.
I was craving Yukdaejang's yukgaejang (😍) but they were closed so we settled for guksu - not bad at all!
We ended a nearly perfect day at Muin Cafe, chatting a bit, a glass of lemonade and listening to TY playing the piano.
Slutet gott...
Tatah~! 😄
